BJP MLA and former minister Pratap Singh Singhvi today asked Rajasthan government to waive electricity bills of farmers for four months in advance, in view of a weak monsoon this year.
Singhvi said a drought-like situation is looming large over the state and nearly 56 per cent Kharif crop has been affected due to bad monsoon which also had adverse impact on the sowing of Rabi crops.
"Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje should in advance waive electricity bills from October 2015 to January 2016 to support farmers who will face difficult time due to bad monsoon. The government should also ensure at least 8 hours of electricity to farmers," the ruling party MLA from Chhbra constituency in Baran district said.
Singhvi said he had also written a letter to the chief minister a couple of days ago.
