Wall of temple tan collapses due to rain

The wall of the famous Kamalalaya Kulam (Tank)of the 7th Century Sri Thiagarajaswamy temple here collapsed today due to incessant rains, officials said.
No one was injured in the collapse of the wall on the western side extending to sixty metres, they said.
In 2012, the north side wall of the tank also collapsed due to heavy rains. But the Hindu Regligious and Charitable Endowment department did not take any step since then to renovate the temple.
The Rs one crore project to renovate the temple is getting delayed though the tender process was completed six months ago.
