In 'English Vinglish', Sridevi played the role of a housewife who joins an English speaking course to regain her confidence after being teased by her husband and family. The film, riding on her shoulders, did quite well at the box office.

"I want to be in the film that I would be proud of and not just for the sake of being there in it. I want to do films that appeal to me," Sridevi told PTI.

Asked if she is open to playing an aunt or a mother, the actress said, "If I really wanted to do that I would have done it long back, then why would I wait?"

Having made a comeback on the silver screen after 15 years, the actress insists that she won't take long time to do another film.

"Definitely it won't be that long to do another Bollywood film. People are approaching and they want to narrate stories to me. I hope something very interesting comes my way," Sridevi said.

Her husband Boney Kapoor being a producer, Sridevi is open to working in his films. "Definitely he will make films for me and I would like to work in them, it goes without saying," she said.

Being a good dancer, would she be open to doing item or special songs and surprise the audience, the veteran actress said, "I wouldn't give my fans such a big surprise by doing an item number (laughs). I don't know why people call some songs 'item numbers'. I would call them special songs and would be open to doing special songs." MORE
