With the arrest of Vikas Dagar and two of his associates, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has stumbled upon an inter-state illegal arms and ammunition trader - allegedly trading in AK 47 Assault Rifles, hand grenades and grenade launchers - with clients in Delhi-NCR, police said today.
Dagar (31) had allegedly made a failed attempt to kill former Najafgarh MLA Bharat Singh and his brother Kishen Pehlwan, said Vivek Gogia, Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).
Dagar, known by the moniker Vicky Jharodia carried a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. His associates, who were arrested were identified as Amit alias Mita and Manish alias Monu. They are all residents of southwest Delhi's Jharoda village.
It was around three years before Bharat Singh was allegedly gunned down by Udaiveer Singh and his men over an old rivalry. Dagar was one of the suspects in that case too. Dagar told the police that he held grudge against the former MLA and his brother for their alleged misbehaviour with a woman in his family. After Bharat Singh's death, he was planning to eliminate Pehlwan, said Gogia.
After the alleged murder attempt, Dagar was arrested by Special Cell of Delhi Police and later lodged at Tihar Jail. In prison, he allegedly conspired the murder of one Paramjeet, and got booked in another case. Later he jumped parole and allegedly started conspiring about eliminating his enemies, starting with Pehlwan.
