Ravi Prakash, who hails from Muzaffarnagar, was apprehended from the guest house in C R Park yesterday on a tip off, ACP (South-East) Ajay Chaudhry said.

Prakash is allegedly involved in a number of "sensational" incidents of murder, attempt to murder, dacoity and robbery, he said.

"A non-bailable warrant was issued against him by a Meerut court for allegedly murdering one Harish Sirohi in a case of gang rivalry," Chaudhry said.

Prakash entered the world of crime in 1992 when he murdered a lawyer in Civil Lines in Muzaffarnagar. In 1995, he was arrested in a murder case of a judicial officer in Bareilly in UP.

"He was also accused in Personal Point triple murder case of South Delhi in 1996," he said.

A senior police official said he was acquitted by trial court in the case, which created headlines those days.

An MCD contractor allegedly hired Prakash and others to kill Personal Point Fitness Centre head, Sunil Kaul and his two women employees, Sujata Shah and Deepa Gupta. The contractor wanted to marry Shah but Kaul was opposed to it.
