A 38-year-old man, who was on the radar of the police forces of several jurisdictions including Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, was arrested following a brief shootout here, the police said today.
Sahun Bishambhara carried a reward of Rs 2 lakh on him and was on the run for the last two years, they said.
He was being trailed by the police forces of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan, they added.
In 2013, the Delhi Police's special cell had booked Bishambhara and his associate Salli under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) for allegedly running an organised crime syndicate from Haryana's Mewat.
At the same time, Bishambhara, and one Sher Khan escaped from the custody of Madhya Pradesh police.
Criminal gangs from Mewat and its adjoining areas have always been active in Delhi, particularly in the southern and outer parts of the city, said PS Kushwah, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell).

It was learnt that Bishambhara had reorganized his crime syndicate and was planning to visit Delhi to commit some heinous crimes, said the officer.

Yesterday, the police learnt that he was hiding in a village near Hathin, Haryana. The teams raided the village but he was not found as he had already left for western UP.
In the early hours today, Bishambhara was spotted at Kalindi Kunj Chowk here. When the police team tried to capture him, he opened fire at the team. No injuries were caused by the policemen and following a brief exchange of fire, Bishambhara was nabbed, said the DCP.
A US-made pistol of 7.65 bore and five live cartridges were recovered from the accused.
He was allegedly involved in several cases of killing, highway robberies and other cases across the country and was carrying a reward on his arrest from many states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana, he added.
