Ukraine national Andrii Glukhovskiy Anatolievich, wanted by Madhya Pradesh police in a Rs 81-lakh fraud case, was arrested today by interpol in Germany.
According to a complaint made to the police, an Ukraine- based company 'Mriya-K' had placed an order for garments worth Rs 81 lakh in June 2011 to Indore-based Agape Business Corporation.
The complaint, made by Ramchandra Saranu on December 19, 2012, alleged four Ukraine nationals Natali Sorakina, Andrii, Slavic Malanuha and Kelly Hoodik had colluded to cheat him, importing the goods without making the payment, official sources said.
The goods were allegedly taken by Mriya-K company and another Ukraine-based firm Kosmoledo without submitting original invoices and other relevant documents. After several notices for payment by the victim, the accused were not willing to reply and pay for the goods, it was alleged.
As the accused named in the complaint were nationals of Ukraine and were not available during the investigation and to ensure the arrest, the police provided information to the Interpol----acronym for International Criminal Police Organization consisting of 188 member-countries including India--to issue a 'red corner notice', the sources said.
A red corner notice seeks arrest of the wanted person and subsequent extradition to the country where he is wanted.
Andrii will be extradited to India soon, the sources said.
The case was lodged at the MIG Colony police station in Indore under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
