They also accused police of shielding them and charged them of not taking any action against stone pelters and demanded suspension of the police officers involved in yesterday's incident.
"The Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh had promised action on the illegal possession of the Karbala land here and implementation of the High Court's order. Fearing this, land mafia in connivance of Delhi Police is trying to give it a communal colour," said Bahadur Abbas Naqvi, the general secretary of the Anjuman-e-Haideri.
Some locals clashed with police yesterday evening during which stones were pelted from both sides in which several protesters were injured.
The Shia organisation said that around 12 people including children were injured in the incident.
Heavy deployment of police has been made in the area after last night's incident to restore peace.
"For maintaining peace and harmony during the upcoming Muharram festival we request PM Narendra Modi to immediately implement the Delhi High Court's orders for constructing the boundary walls of waqf land already demarcated by government agencies," he said.
