War veterans awarded on Armed Forces Flag Day

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung today felicitated the Gallantry Awardees and Distinguished Service Medal winners on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day at a function held at Raj Niwas here.
A total of 18 awardees were presented the grant cheques. It included six Gallantry Award winners and 12 Distinguished Service Medal winners.
The function was organised by Rajya Sainik Board, Delhi to honour the Battle Casualties and felicitate the gallantry awardees and the Distinguished Service Medal winners.
Speaking at the occasion, Jung said,"it is great honour for us to felicitate these awardees."
"As civilian, we have no words to express the gratitude to the Armed Forces for the outstanding sense of commitment with which they are performing their duties for our country and this nation has great respect for them," he said.

The Lt Governor also released the Brochure of the Rajya Sainik Board on this occasion and paid tribute to the personnel who laid down their lives for protecting the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, senior officers of government of Delhi and Army, Navy and Air Force officers were also present during the function.
