BMC has asked the implanting agency to start the process of collection of the garbage from August next. "We will set up the plant for processing the solid waste after 15 months of the collection of the waste materials," said KP Maheswari, CEO of UPL Environment and Engineering.
Presently, around 150 tones of solid wastes are being generated in the town daily. The quantity was likely to be reached around 250 tones in the next 30 years, BMC sources said. Some other adjoining towns like Gopalpur, Chhatrapur, Chikiti, Digapahandi and Hinjilicut would be included in the project in future, where the implanting agency collects the garbage from there.
