Water crisis in Raj an administrative failure: Raje
Press Trust of India Jaipur Terming water crisis in desert state of Rajasthan an 'administrative failure', BJP state president Vasundhara Raje today claimed that the state government could not properly utilise funds provided by the Centre for water related works.
The state in 2011-12 could use only Rs 25 crore out of total Rs 330 crore sanctioned for water related works in the state because the government did not took interest.
Similarly, she added, the Centre sanctioned Rs 600 crore in 2012-13 but the state government has so far only spent Rs 18 crore.
"This is administrative failure of the state government," she said while addressing public meetings in Ajmer district.
"The state has slowest growth rate among other states and corruption in MGNREGA is rampant. Government jobs have been announced when elections are coming closer," she said.
Raje addressed rallies in Beawar, Masuda and Kekri town in Ajmer.
