Water Ministry gets expert who advised Modi as Gujarat CM
Press Trust of India New Delhi A group, headed by an expert who worked with Narendra Modi during his Chief Ministership of Gujarat, was today set up to advise the union Water Resources Ministry whose main priorities are cleaning and inter-linking of rivers.
B N Navalawala will be the Chief Adviser of the group which will have two other advisers From time to time, appointed in consultation with him.
The Group may co-opt other experts for a specific purpose and for a specified period with the prior approval of the ministry, said a statement issued by the Water Resources Ministry.
Navalawala was adviser on water management to Modi when he was Gujarat Chief Minister.
He is credited with playing a key role in cleaning and beautification of Sabarmati river in Gujarat. His new assignment is significant as the union Water Resources Ministry is working on cleaning the rivers Ganga and Yamuna.
