According to a statement issued by the Union Water Resources Ministry, as on November 19, water storage available across the major reservoirs was 84.1468 billion cubic meters (BCM). The total storage capacity of the reservoirs is 157.799 BCM.
The current stock is also 74 per cent of the 10-year average for the corresponding period.
States having lesser storage than last year are Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, united Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
