Water supply to remain affected in south Delhi: DJB

Water supply by Delhi Jal Board in many parts of the city will remain affected on January 11-12 due to interconnection of pipelines and repair work at various places in south Delhi.
Due to replacement of 600 mm diameter sluice valve spindle and nut and repairing at raw water supply pump house Wazirabad, water supply will be affected on the evening of January 11 and morning of January 12, in Okhla Phase-I,II,III, Kalkaji, Kalkaji Extn, Govindpuri and CR Park areas, a DJB official said.
Also GB Pant Polytechnic, Shyam Nagar Colony, Lajpat Nagar, Amar Colony, East of Kailash, part of Greater Kailash, Prahladpur, Lal Kuan, Vishvkarma Colony, Tehkand Village, Tuglakabad Village, Sangam Vihar and Devoli Vidhan Sabha and adjoining areas will be affected.
The official said that due to interconnection of newly laid 400 mm diameter feeder line of Inderpuri JJ Colony with existing 600 mm diameter Naraina main, water supply will remain affected in Patel Nagar, Prem Nagar, Baljeet Nagar, Pandav Nagar, Ranjeet Nagar, New Rajender Nagar, Inderpuri JJ Colony localities on the evening of January 11.
Due to annual flushing of underground reservoir and booster pumping station, water supply would remain affected or available at low pressure in many areas on January 11.
The affected areas will be Sarai Kale Khan Village, Kirlokari and adjoining areas, Defence Colony, Kotla Mubarakpur, Khirki DDA Flats, Slum Quarters Garhi, H Block Harkesh Nagar, H Block Sector 16, Rohini, A-5 Sector 17 Rohini, Nithri Village and Sahipur Village.
Residents of affected areas may avail the tanker service of DJB, besides storing adequate quantity of water, added the official.
