Water treatment plant at Sarasvati river's origin: Khattar

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said environmentalist Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal's model of waste water treatment plants would be adopted at the origin of the Sarasvati river and at other places to achieve the target of 'Swachhta Abhiyan' in the state.
He said a clean environment was necessary to achieve "real" development and added that he visited Kapurthala district in Punjab yesterday to study the Seechewal model where he also met the noted environmentalist.
Khattar was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the newly-built Grain, Vegetable and Fodder Market at Ambala Cantonment.
The market has been set up by Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board on over 32 acres at a cost of Rs 26.57 crore.

Khattar said e-tendering service has been launched at 37 'mandi' of the state and it would be made available at all the grain markets phase-by-phase.
He said with this, farmers would be able to connect with all such 'mandi' nationally which, in turn, would ensure a good price for their produces.
The chief minister claimed that his government had ensured "overall" development of the state, "without any regional bias", in its two-year tenure so far.
Earlier, Khattar also spoke at the 39th Zonal Youth Festival Function organised by Kurukshetra University at Ambala.
