Residents of Saankhol and other villages in Bahadurgarh sub-division blocked the National Highway No 10 for over an hour demanding adequate supply of potable water.
Commuters faced a tough time due to the blockade and opted for alternate routes to reach their destination.
The protesters lifted the blockade after district authorities assured them that their demand would be looked into sympathetically.
The villagers threatened to re-launch the stir if adequate supply of potable water was not restored by Monday.
The protesters said they were facing acute shortage of drinking water for the last three months.
"We have to buy drinking water to meet our daily requirement," said women protesters.
"Villagers have to fetch water from far-flung areas in scorching heat or have to buy from private suppliers," locals said.
