West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar Wednesday summoned the state assembly to meet on August 26 at his chamber at the Legislative Assembly, Raj Bhavan sources said.
This will be his first official meeting with the Bengal lawmakers.
Dhankar took up office as the 28th governor of West Bengal on July 30.
In exercise of the power conferred on the Governor under clause (1) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India, summoned the West Bengal Legislative Assembly to meet on August 26 in the noon in his chamber at the state Legislative Assembly, a statement released from Dhankars office said.
Dhankhar, a former Lok Sabha MP from Rajasthan, succeeded Keshari Nath Tripathi.
