WB to hire consultant to make SME sector norms friendlier

West Bengal government would hire a consultant to scrutinise and recommend ways to make rules and regulations to make the state friendlier for small scale sector.
"We will soon hire a consultant to give fresh look into the age-old acts, rules and regulations pertaining to small scale industry and recommend relevent changes which will make the law more contemporary," Micro & Small Scale Enterprise Department Principal Secretary Rajiva Sinha said here today.
Speaking at an interactive session with MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today he said EoI (Expression on Interest) for selection of the consultant would be issued shortly.
"They will be given 90 days to submit recommendations," he added.
Sinha said the Department had begun industry facilitation centers at all district industry centers to offer single application gateway to protect investors running post to post of different departments for clearence.
The unique clearing centers for resolving land mutation related problems for industries.
"We had done in Howrah and Siliguri and land we had successfully resolved over 500 cases and we will have more camps in other districts," Sinha said.
