WB Univ of Animal and Fishery Sciences to get dialysis unit

The West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences will set up a dialysis unit for animals at the veterinary clinic here soon.
Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Purnendu Biswas today said the unit will have latest facilities and will be the first one in West Bengal.
"A multi-speciality veterinary hospital complex will be completed shortly at the Belgachia campus. It will have facilities for diagnosis, treatment and care of all categories of animals and birds," Biswas said after the convocation address of West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences here.
He said a burial ground for pet animals at Belgachia campus has already been made available to the general public, which has received wide acceptance.
"We have also started indoor treatment facilities for pet animals in the veterinary clinics at the Belgachia campus," Biswas said.
The university has also completed a hands-on radio diagnostic imaging programme for field veterinarians, the VC said.
He said the university is handling 54 projects sponsored by agencies like ICAR, DST (Department of Science and Technology), DBT (Department of Bio-technology) and some premiere private institutions currently.
