WCD Ministry to confer national awards to Anganwadi workers

The Union Ministry of Women and Child Development will tomorrow confer national awards to Anganwadi workers (AWWs) who were selected for their exceptional achievement for the year 2014-15 and 2015-16.
The awards will be given by the Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi in the presence of Minister of State Krishna Raj.
A total of 97 AWWs will be conferred with these awards, which comprises of a cash amount of Rs 25,000 and a citation.
The National level award is given to the AWWs nominated by the States and Union Territories.
