Last Sunday, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) was barred from attending the General Body Meeting of the suspended Indian Olympic Association (IOA) due to a pending court case against the shooting body.
An unperturbed Raninder, though, said the federation has other important work to tend with major sporting events lined up next year.
The NRAI is embroiled in a legal battle with former Olympic silver-medallist Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and had suffered a setback when the Delhi High Court declared the shooting body's April 6 elections this year as null and void.
"There were two separate petitions on this election issue and one single judge bench of the Delhi High Court had ruled in our favour and hence the matter has been referred to a division bench. Till the pendency of the appeal, we are the legal body," Raninder had said.
"Our shooters, especially the juniors, have been winning medals regularly. We have been awarded the best sport federation. Our budgetary allocation has gone up from Rs seven to Rs 20 crore. We are compliant with all sports code guidelines.
"We are recognised by the Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry as well as the IOC. We are the first federation to have incorporated the age and tenure guidelines. And we were in favour of imposing ban of administrators who have been chargesheeted.
