"Efforts are being made to eradicate weaknesses, drawbacks, poverty," he said here after hoisting the tri-colour on the occasion of the Independence Day.
It is only by doing this can our independence be complete and more useful, he said, adding that production needs to be increased and put to everybody's use for granting state, economic, social and ethical justice to all.
"By doing this, the meaning of self governance will be fulfilled and to do this it is essential that we all join together, without which it cannot be achieved completely," he said.
For achieving India's Independence many sacrifices were made by people, many lost their lives, many spent the better parts of their lives in jail, many left their occupations and faced different dangers, he said.
"On this day it will prove beneficial for us to view what we have done in the previous year and what we wish to do in the coming years," he said.
