He also dismissed reports of Congress leaders having approached him in this regard.
"Nobody has met me. The BJD will not be supporting the UPA government," Patnaik told reporters here when asked about media reports that a senior Congress leader had met him.
Yesterday, Patnaik had said the withdrawal of support by Trinamool Congress has put the Centre in an unstable and weak position and exuded confidence that BJD will "do well in any elections whether its is early or not".
To a question whether he sees a mid-term poll under the prevailing situation, he said, "Let us watch and see. But it seems instability has come as far as the Central government is concerned."
Optimistic about the performance of regional parties in next polls, Patnaik said they (regional parties) are getting stronger by the day.
