Chasing 178 for a win, KXIP could score just 134 for eighth at the PCA Stadium and Hussey could not hide his disappointment.
"It was a par score, but we played badly with both the bat and the ball. It was one of the worst matches we have played in the IPL," Hussey said.
"We are playing better away from home. We did not turn up tonight, need to regroup quickly and get to Hyderabad," said Hussey who was captaining the side in the absence of injured Adam Gilchrist.
Rajasthan captain Rahul Dravid was a happy man after his side snapped their four-match losing streak.
"We played an all round game. We did well with the bat to score 177 for six and then credit to the bowlers for restricting KXIP to 134 for eight," he said.
Asked about the bowling combination with speedster Shaun Tait coming into the mix, Dravid said, "Tait added some spice to our attack, created some element of doubt in the batsmen. Hope we continue our good bowling performance."

"Conditions made us go for the five changes today. We would have been in a better position had we not lost a couple of close games. But that is the nature of the competition, we need to play well," he added.
Man of the match Shane Watson said he enjoyed playing at the IPL.
"The wicket was something similar to what we get at home, pace and bounce. It helped me a lot and I enjoyed bowling here. I owe a lot to IPL, love coming to IPL," he said.
