We will enjoy advantage over Brazil, says German coach Wueck

A strong partisan crowd may be supporting Brazil in tomorrow's FIFA Under-17 World Cup quarterfinal clash, but an unperturbed Germany coach Christian Wueck today said they would enjoy an advantage over their rivals in their biggest game of the tournament.
The football-crazy Kolkata is all set to roar for their favourite team with the turnout expected to breach the 60,000 mark and Brazil would find themselves at home but Wueck is hardly bothered about it.
"It's very good that the stadium will have many fans tomorrow. It will be very loud in the stadium. If most of the fans are supporting for Brazil, maybe it's good for us," he said shifting the pressure on Brazil.

"It will give my players an opportunity to develop. It's very important for career of the players to know how does it feel in front of such a big crowd in a World Cup quarterfinal against a strong team," he added.
Wueck further said facing one of their strongest rivals in Brazil will motivate them to dish out their best.
"There will be no pressure on us. Not a lot of things can be greater for my players than to play against Brazil, especially to play a quarterfinal in a World Cup. It's the highest game we had ever played. We are very happy to play the quarterfinals here. We are looking forward to it," he said.

On paper, Germany who are in search of their maiden World Cup title at U-17 level, are no match to the three-time former champions.

The Germans might have suffered a stunning 0-4 loss to Iran in the group stages but Wueck said they have learnt from that outing.
"It was a very, very bad game, like we say 'Black Monday' in Germany. Non of my players could reach the limit.
"Don't forget Iran are a very good side and are able to surprise the whole world. My team was on the ground against Iran but we stood up. It's most important that we have learnt from that defeat and stood up," he said.

"In a World Cup it's very necessary to get the best out of the players on the pitch. We made a bit changes in the defence and were much better in the next two games."
Germany have scored nine goals but also conceded six from four matches but Wueck said it's not a matter of concern for them.
"We are not afraid about that. We had a very bad game versus Iran but that's past. We know we could stand up after that game," he said.
The coach said they have missed about 80-90 per cent chances.
"We have to work on the missed chances. In offence we were very, very fast and had about 80-90 chances and scored only a handful of goals. We have to learn very quick against Brazil. It's much harder to get these chances against Brazil," Wueck said.
