The ICC today countered claims made by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) that the world governing body has agreed to reimburse the money spent on clearing wicketkeeper Kusal Perera name of doping charges.
SLC secretary Mohan de Silva had reportedly claimed that the world body had verbally agreed to reimburse the funds which the board spent in getting clearance for Perera from doping charges.
However ICC dismissed the claim and said categorically that it won't give nay money to the SLC.
"ICC confirms it has not received any request for compensation from @OfficialSLC or Perera and it has not agreed to any reimbursement," the ICC wrote on its Twitter handle.
SLC had spent over 13 million rupees on clearing Perera's name, though they did not quite need the 15 million rupees they had set aside to fight the case.
Perera has began training now after missing Sri Lanka's tour to New Zealand, a bilateral series against India, Asia Cup and World T20.
