Kohima bench of the Gauhati High Court on Monday launched a website where litigants can check the status of their cases.

Justice S Serto of the Kohima bench launched kohimahighcourt.gov.in, according to which a total of 1,046 cases, including 94 criminal cases, have been pending in court for more than a year.

The website hosts the Case Information System of the court.

"The main purpose of launching CIS is to let litigants know the status of the cases online," said Neiko Akami, Registrar-cum-Central Project Coordinator of the Kohima bench.

He said citizens can access all the orders passed by the court.

As per data available on the website, 1,046 cases have been pending in the court for more than a year, including 467 civil cases, 94 criminal cases and 485 writ cases.

The site has been designed by the Kohima bench.
