Weddingz.In raises over USD 1 mn, to expand to 100 cities

Weddingz.In, an online marketplace for wedding venues and vendors, has raised over USD 1 million from a group of angel investors, including film makers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti and others.
The funding round also saw participation from Google India MD Rajan Anandan and Ambrish Ritu Kumar (Ritu Kumar Brands), among others.

Ola to help driver partners get personal loans * Taxi aggregator Ola today said it has partnered Indifi to help drivers in registering on its platform and get easy access to personal loans.
Ola has already initiated the loan scheme in Pune and Bengaluru and plans to partner with multiple finance partners in the next six months to make this facility available to drivers across the country, Ola said in a statement.

Novopay launches wallet services
* Bengaluru-based technology and banking services company Novopay today launched wallet service which allows its users to receive and withdraw cash from Novopay-enabled retail stores across the country.
Using the KYC (Know Your Customer)-enabled wallet, users can cash in Rs 10,000 and cash out Rs 5,000 at a time through a retail partner.
The transactions do not require the consumer to have a smartphone.

* Rajasthan Global Securities has divested 2.21 per cent stake in Pioneer Distillers Ltd, a subsidiary of United Spirits Ltd.
The shares were offloaded yesterday and based on December 10 stock closing price, the sales were worth Rs 6.61 crore.
Post sale, Rajasthan Global Securities is left with 4.79 per cent stake in Pioneer Distillers.
It had 7 per cent shares in the Hyderabad-based Pioneer Distillers.

HDFC Bank conducts national 'Blood Donation Drive' * HDFC Bank organised a nationwide blood donation campaign today.
"Large number of volunteers lined up to donate blood at over 2,000 designated centers in 930 locations across the country. The Bank had tied up with major hospitals and blood banks to provide technical assistance," HDFC Bank said in a release.
Jet Airways to deploy Airbus 330-200 on Mum-Singapore route
* Leading carrier Jet Airways today said it will deploy an aircraft on the Mumbai-Singapore route to increase its carrying capacity by 50 per cent.
It will deploy the Airbus 330-200 instead of the current Boeing 737 on the busy route, the company said in a statement, adding that the new aircraft can accommodate 18 seats in the 'Premiere' class and 236 in the economy.
"This sector has seen a growth in traffic by over 34 per cent in last two years, particularly among business travellers," its whole time director Gaurang Shetty said.
Apart from the business travellers, this sector also sees demand from passengers wishing to travel ahead from Singapore to Australian and ASEAN destinations, he added.

L&T Infotech to use 'Facebook at Work' platform * L&T Infotech today said it will be using the 'Facebook at Work' platform for communication and networking within the company.
The social media giant had launched the programme in the country yesterday and a slew of companies, including Telenor, RBS, YES Bank, Godrej Industries, Paytm, Zomato and Delhivery are using it.
"The initial results are very encouraging," its managing director and chief executive Sanjay Jalona said.
A company statement said the FB initiative will connect its 20,000 employees across 23 countries.

Axis Bk launches online electronic signature service * Private sector lender Axis Bank today said it has launched an online electronic signature service which will enable depositors to update nomination details remotely.
Those having a Aadhar card can digitally sign a document within seconds as part of the service, it said.
"Empowering our customers to electronically sign service requests on the go makes the entire process paperless and reduces the turnaround time, thereby improving customer experience," its head of retail banking Rajiv Anand said.
