Hot weather conditions made for high temperatures in the western parts of Rajasthan even as its eastern half foundd relief in light overnight showers.
Churu registered a high of 40.2 degrees Celsius while the maximum in Jodhpur was at 39 degrees followed by Jaisalmer at 37.7 degrees. Jaipur saw the mercury settle at 36 degrees, the MeT office said.
On the other hand, a temporary western disturbance caused thundershowers last night in the northeastern parts of the state, bringing a little respite from the hot weather conditions.
Hanumangarh was hit by a heavy hailstorm while Pilani, Buhana, Nohar all recorded rainfall measuring 30mm. Also, Chirawa, Ramgarh, Sethan and Mulsisar each received 20mm rainfall followed by Ganganagar, Bhadra, Jhunjhunu and Nawalgarh with 10mm each.
The forecast is for rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the state in the next 24 hours.
