"We have brought reforms for ease of business in the state. There are 7,000 commercial taxes litigation cases pending in the state. The traders have been moving court to win over the cases for long. But no solutions have been made yet," state Finance Minister Amit Mitra said.
He was addressing the 15th India International Mega Trade Fair (IIMTF) being held from December 16 to 26.
The state government proposed them to pay taxes at a rate of 30 per cent for disputes over input tax credit and walk away from the problems.
He termed such measures as a step forward towards creating a business friendly environment in West Bengal.
