Western command celebrates its 65th 'Raising Day'

During the occasion, floral tributes were paid at the 'Veer Smriti' by Lieutenant General Sanjiv Chachra, the General Officer Commanding-in- Chief Headquarters Western Command and eight former Western Army Commanders, a defence spokesperson said.

Besides this, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and the former Governors of Jammu and Kashmir and Assam were also present in the function.

The occasion also coincided with the two-days 'Western Army Commanders' Conclave' held at Headquarters Western Command from September 14-15, 2012.

Western Command has a glorious history of valour and dedication and has played a stellar role in preserving the territorial integrity of the country, the spokesman said.
