American computer data storage company Western Digital corporation today launched its Sandisk brand connect wireless stick here.
The new 200 GB sized SanDisk connect wireless stick, works like a wireless LAN, enabling management of content between devices including iPhone, iPad, Android devices, Fire tablets and PCs through a password-protected Wi-Fi connectivity, Director (Marketing) Sandisk Brand for Western Digital, Jaganathan Chelliah told reporters.
With explosion of content, people needed more advanced storage solutions to keep up with the volume and quality of photos, videos, and files they were creating on their mobile phones, he said.
He also said that in order to address the problems of Indian phone users, who end up deleting files every week for want of phone memory, Western Digital has come out with a new range of mobile memory solutions suite Sandisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0.
It also offers SanDisk flash drive for iPhone and iPad -- iXpand -- designed to help free up space (on iPhone and iPad) with up to 128 GB of additional capacity.
Stating that the products have already been launched in 22 cities and would be introduced in eight more locations, he said the company was witnessing a y-o-y growth of 12 per cent, particularly with smaller cities and semi-urban areas moving towards smart phones.
