WFI slaps notice on Arjun awardee wrestler for his comments
Press Trust of India Indore Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has slapped a notice on its coach Kripa Shanker Patel, an Arjun awardee, who had trained Aamir Khan in wrestling for his Bollywood flick Dangal, for equating it to a mule in his social media post.
WFI has given a week's time to the 40-year-old wrestler to reply.
"I have not replied to the notice yet," Patel told PTI today.
However, the wrestler stood his ground saying what he has done, it was in the interest of wrestling.
"If somebody is hurt with my post I apologise to him," he added.
On a social networking site, on September 12, Patel said that the United World Wrestling tweaked some important rules in wrestling but WFI hasn't endorsed them wholly.
"Do you know that in Gujarat's Kutch there was an animal mule - the offspring of a donkey and a horse. Yes, WFI has endorsed the tweaked rules in this manner," his post on social media read.
