However, rice basmati met with resistance at existing higher levels and ended lower.
Traders said increased offtake by flour mills led to the rise in wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 15 to Rs 1,575-1,580 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,580-1,585 per 90 kg.
Atta flour mills and maida also traded higher at Rs 835-840 and Rs 940-950 from previous levels of Rs 830-840 and Rs 935-945 per 50 kg respectively.

On the other hand, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety remained weak at Rs 9,200-10,300 and Rs 7,500-10,500 against last close of Rs 9,400-10,500 and Rs 7,800-10,800 per quintal, respectively on falling demand.
