Barley and bajra also moved up on industrial demand.
Traders said increased offtake by flour mills mainly led to the rise in wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) inched up by Rs 5 to Rs 1,570-1,575 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,575-1,580 per 90 kg. Sooji also seen in some demand and gained Rs 10 to Rs 980-1,000 per 50 kg.
On the other hand, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety eased to Rs 8,900-9,700 and Rs 7,100-9,600 against last close of Rs 9,000-9,700 and Rs 7,300-9,800 per quintal, respectively on lack of buying support.
