Wheat prices were up by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grain market today due to increased offtake by flour mills against restricted arrivals from producing regions.
However, other grains held steady in thin trade.
Traders said increased offtake by flour mills, triggered by rising demand amid restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1,650-1,655 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,660-1,665 per 90 kg.
