Wheat extends losses on higher supply

Extending losses for the third day, wheat prices fell by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on persistent supplies from growing belts against reduced offtake by flour mills.
However, bajra and barley moved up on fresh enquiries from consuming industries.
Traders said besides adequate stocks position in the market on steady inflow of arrivals of new crop from producing belts mainly keeping pressure on wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat MP deshi and wheat dara (for mills) fell further by Rs 30 each to Rs 2,150-2,530 and Rs 1,470-1,475 per quintal, respectively.
Atta chakki delivery followed suit and eased by a similar margin to Rs 1,485-1,490 per 90 kg.
On the other hand, bajra and barley rose by Rs 25 and Rs 40 to Rs 1,225-1,230 and Rs 1,140-1,145 per quintal, respectively.
