Wheat prices advanced by Rs 10 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale grains market today due to increased offtake by flour mills.
On the other hand, Maize eased on muted demand from consuming industries.
Traders said, besides increased offtake by flour mills, restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly kept wheat prices higher.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1,770-1,775 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,780-1,785 per 90 kg.
Atta flour mills, maida and sooji also enquired higher by Rs 10 each to 960-970, Rs 980-990 and Rs 1,050-1,060 per 50 kg, respectively.
Maize, too, declined by Rs 20 to Rs 1,220-1,225 per quintal.
