At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in far-month January was trading higher by Rs 6, or 0.36 per cent to Rs 1,667 per quintal with an open interest of 8,300 lots.
Likewise, the wheat for delivery in December edeged up b Rs 4, or 0.25 per cent to Rs 1,630 per quintal in 1,800 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to pick up in demand from flour mills in the physical market amid pause in arrivals from producing belts, mainly influenced wheat prices at futures trade.
