At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in February moved up by Rs 14, or 0.82 per cent to Rs 1,726 per quintal with an open interest of 5,170 lots.
Likewise, the wheat for delivery in March was trading higher by Rs 6, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 1,730 per quintal in 1,010 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to upsurge in demand in the physical market amid pause in supplies from growing regions, mainly led to rise in wheat prices at futures trade.
