Wheat loses ground on supply glut

Wheat prices eased Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale grains market on adequate supplies from producing belts against reduced offtake by flour mills.
However, other grains moved in a tight range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.
Traders said besides reduced offtake by flour mills, increased supplies from producing regions mainly led to the fall in wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) fell Rs 20 to Rs 1,490-1,495 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and eased by a similar margin to Rs 1,500-1,505 per 90 kg.
