Maize also traded higher on strong demand from consuming industries.
Traders said increased off-take by flour mills in the face of tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts kept wheat prices higher.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) and wheat MP (desi) advanced by Rs 15 each to Rs 1,820-1,825 and Rs 2,285-2,835 per quintal respectively. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and moved higher by a similar margin to Rs 1,830-1,835 per 90 kg.
Other bold grains like, maize rose by Rs 30 to Rs 1,600-1,610 per quintal. Bajra and barley too settled higher at Rs 1,660-1,670 and Rs 1,680-1,685 as compared to last levels of Rs 1,640-1,645 and Rs 1,670-1,675 per quintal respectively.
