However, rice basmati eased on adequate stocks against sluggish demand.
Traders said increased offtake by flour mills and stockists against tight supplies from producing regions mainly led to the rise in wheat and maize prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 20 to Rs 1,655-1,660 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and edged higher by the same margin to Rs 1,660-1,665 per 90 kg.
Atta flour mills, maida and sooji also settled higher at Rs 890-900, Rs 960-965 and Rs 1,000-1,010 as compared to previous levels of Rs 860-870, Rs 915-920 and Rs 965-985 per 50 kg, respectively.

Bajra also gained Rs 10 to Rs 1,170-1,175, while jowar yellow and white went up to Rs 1,400-1,425 and Rs 2,400-2,525 against last close of Rs 1,160-1,165, Rs 1,375-1,400 and Rs 2,350-2,475 per quintal, respectively.
On the other hand, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety eased to Rs 5,400-6,000 and Rs 4,750-5,800 as against last close of Rs 5,500-6,100 and Rs 4,800-5,900 per quintal, respectively.
Non-basmati rice permal raw, wand, sela and IR-8 were also closed lower at Rs 1,750-1,800, Rs 1,875-1,900, Rs 2,450-2,500 and Rs 1,575-1,625 from previous close of Rs 1,800-1,825, Rs 1,950-2,050,Rs 2,600-2,625 and Rs 1,700-1,725 per quintal, respectively.
