Wheat procurement touches over 86 lakh metric tonnes in Har

The previous record was of over 69.28 lakh metric tonnes established during the last season.

A spokesman of the Haryana Food and Supplies Department said over 86,23,701 metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in mandis till yesterday.

Out of this, only 483 metric tonnes of wheat had been purchased by traders, he said.

Over 23,96,258 metric tonnes of wheat had been purchased by the Food and Supplies Department and over 31,04,526 metric tonnes by HAFED, the spokesman said.

The CONFED purchased 5,32,173 metric tonnes, the Haryana Warehousing Corporation 8,14,732 metric tonnes, the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation over 8,27,934 metric tonnes and the Food Corporation of India over 9,47,595 metric tonnes, he said.
