However, bajra, maize and barley ended in positive zone on increased demand from consuming industries.
Traders said reduced offtake by flour mills and stockists against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on wheat and rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) fell by Rs 15 to Rs 1,620-1,625 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by Rs 10 to Rs 1630-1635 per 90 kg.
On the other hand, bajra, maize and barley were traded higher at Rs 1,270-1,275, Rs 1,435-1,440 and Rs 1430-1460 against last close of Rs 1,255-1,260, Rs 1,420-1,425 and Rs 1405-1410 per quintal respectively.
