Traders said pick up in offtake by flour mills and stockists against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in wheat and rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 5 to Rs 1,630-1,635 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and edged higher to Rs 1,635-1,640 from previous level of Rs 1,630-1,635 per 90 kg.
Other bold grains like, maize advanced by Rs 15 to Rs 1,315-1,320 per quintal.
