Traders said increased offtake by flour mills and stockists against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to the rise in wheat and rice basmati prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1,680-16,85 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,685-1,690 per 90 kg.
Sooji also moved up to Rs 1,000-1,010 from previous level of Rs 980-1,000 per 50 kg.
