However, rice basmati eased on adequate stocks position against sluggish demand.
Traders said besides increased demand from flour mills, fall in supplies from producing regions mainly attributed the rise in wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 20 to Rs 1,620-1,625 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and edged up to Rs 1,630-1,635 from previous level of Rs 1,610-1,615 per 90 kg.
Atta flour mills and maida also traded higher at Rs 870-875 and Rs 950-955 as compared to previous levels of Rs 850-860 and Rs 920-930 per 50 kg respectively.
