Wheat slides on ample stocks

Wheat prices drifted lower by up to Rs 25 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today following ample stocks position against reduced offtake by flour mills.
However, bajra and barley moved up on uptick in demand from consuming industries.
Marketmen said, adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions against reduced offtake by flour mills, mainly put pressure on wheat prices.
In the national capital, wheat (desi) and wheat dara (for mills) fell by Rs 25 and Rs 15 to Rs 2,100-2,345 and Rs 1,740-1,745 per quintal, respectively. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by Rs 15 to Rs 1,745-1,750 per 90 kg.

On the other hand, bajra and barley rose by Rs 20 and Rs 15 to Rs 1,370-1,380 and Rs 1,565-1,585 per quintal, respectively.
