Taapsee is one of the leading actresses of the courtroom drama-thriller which has opened to critical and popular acclaim.
"I don't know how to do this because I belong to Sikh community and we don't touch feet that much," Taapsee told reporters here at the press conference of "Pink".
Shoojit got quite emotional and teary-eyed at her gesture.
Taapsee is now busy shooting her next film "Naam Shabana" which is Neeraj Pandey-produced sequel to her 2015 hit, "Baby".

"I have gotten tweets and messages from random people, and not even a single tweet has been average. So many people have messaged me thanking me for doing this role because it has given them a lot of courage," she added.
"The overwhelming response to my role (in "Pink") is too much to handle for my third film," she added.
Co-actress Kirti Kulhari who was present at the event also thanked the producer Shoojit Sircar, director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and writer Riteish Shah for giving her this film.
